Clark Jolley Statement on His Vote Today to Reduce State's Top Income Tax Rate

April 22, 2014
Campaign Release

"I was proud to support and vote in the Senate today in favor of Tax Cut Legislation that reduces the state’s top individual income tax rate from 5.25 percent to 5 percent. This continues my record of voting for every decrease of the Oklahoma income tax that this state has seen in the last eight years.

The measure also includes a separate trigger to drop the corporate income tax rate from 6 percent to 5 percent. The bill provides for these cuts to go in effect in 2015.

The problem is NOT that Americans are paying too little in taxes -- Americans are paying too much in taxes! That’s why I've signed the Taxpayer Protection Pledge, which opposes any and all tax increases."
